Hazing for dummies
So recently there was an incident at a college in Tallahassee, in which one student was in some marching band frat bull shit and he ended up having to haze to get in and he was beat to death with drumsticks on a bus.
MOST people with a common sense and half working brain would look at this incident as a tragedy.
HOWEVER
There are also a handful of people that would call what he did “gaining respect”. How in bloody god damn hell could you say “Oh I agreed to get beat up with drum sticks, because that is just me showing respect for my “brothers”…… THat is more twisted than a damn ass pretzel.
In all reality, hazing in general is just a dignity raper, if these people were really your “brothers” or “sisters” than you wouldn’t have to dehumanize yourself to the level of making a complete asshole out of yourself, just so you can join a shitty frat or sorority.
There have been other cases of people dying during these sketch ass hazing rituals, a large part due to alcohol poisoning. How is consuming an obscene amount of alcohol until you are blacked out and puking your brains out considered “gaining respect”. WHOSE GOD DAMN RESPECT ARE YOU TRYING TO GAIN? That of your fellow douche fuck committee? PEOPLE gain a back bone and learn to respect yourselves FIRST.
This has always been a problematic thought in my mind, but this recent incident just added to that already blazing fire of my complete annoyance in the human race
SHIT. The hell I would ever subject myself to such devaluing and publicly humiliating rituals. If I want to make an ass out of myself, that will be on MY call and no one else’s.
bought a steve madden purse on sale for $50 at Burlington Coat Factory Yesterday, score :)
It’s a cute tote/purse, perfect for traveling too. In a metallic sort of color that gives you the option of shorter handle and longer strap. WITH LOTS OF POCKETS AND ZIPPERS AND POUCHES, YES >:D
We are NOT leaving this room until I have a future, now draw!

Today has been pretty chill. My cousin and his wife were down from NY so we went to brunch and starbucks with them. Family in small doses from time to time is pretty nice. Got to catch up and have some cool serious talks. The bonding isn’t so bad when the person(s) are not down your neck or all up your shit. Then went for a run at the park.
Chill’nnnnnnn :)
